Obituary of Douglas Edward Guyer

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Douglas Guyer, age 58, who entered into eternity after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He is reunited with his mother, Donna Payne Guyer, brother, Dean Guyer, stepmother, Dorothy Guyer, and beloved grandparents, Edward and Virginia Guyer. He is survived by his father, Donald Guyer, sister, Christa DeNunzio (Sean Sandifur), daughter, Heather (Mario) Trizzino with grandchildren Zion, Ivy, Aliza and Levi, all of Elmira, NY; daughter, Katlyn (Shawn) Swinson with grandchildren Grayson and KJ, of Hubert, NC; best buddy Mark, of Williamsport, PA; uncles, Gary and Ron, many nieces and nephews and cousins. Doug was born, raised, and spent most of his life in Elmira, NY; where every member of the community has heard his voice. His greatest passion was radio and technology. His God given "radio voice" fueled his hobby to become a career and he spent over 30 years connecting with people through the radio waves. He also had a love of birds - his most recent Parrot companion, Sammy, brought much joy to him during difficult weeks of treatments. Doug was a kind and gentle spirit and a friend to all. His legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren, and the impact he made in the media industry. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and will be announced.
