Obituary of Mikel L. VanHorn

Mikel VanHorn Age 67 of Elmira Heights, NY. He was born September 10, 1956 in Warren, OH, the son of the late Frank & Joan Crater, and passed away on Friday morning, September 29th 2023, at home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his daughter Jessica Stevens; grandson Jordan Stevens; siblings Charles (Mary Giuliano) Vanhorn, Richard (Sally) VanHorn, Chris Crater, Shawn (Shelly) Crater, Frank (Diane) Crater, Darlene (Tracy) Crater; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. Mikel served in the U.S. Marine Corps. After leaving the military he went to work at Hardinge, Inc, where he retired after many years as a machine operator. Family and friends are invited to visit the Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St., at Washington Ave., in Elmira, NY on Sunday, October 15th 2023 from 4 pm to 6 pm. A time of sharing will be held there at 6pm. Private committal and interment will take place with his family. Mikel will be laid to rest in St. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Elmira, with military honors.
