Obituary of Clayton Eugene Conrad

Age 77, of Horseheads, NY passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023 at home with his family by his side, after an extended illness. He is survived by his loving wife of over 57 years, Patricia (Martin) Conrad; his beloved children, Barbara Conrad of Horseheads, NY; John (Heather) Conrad of Troutman, NC: Hope (Jason) Kellogg of Southport, NY; Michelle Conrad of Elmira, NY; his adored grandchildren, Emma (Shawn) Stalker, Cassandra Conrad (Zach Wilson), Elijah Conrad, and Camden Conrad all of NC. He is also survived by his sister, Sharon Siegard of Spencer, NY; brother, Alan (Evadnie) Conrad of Horseheads, NY; brother, Dale (Linda) Conrad of Elmira, NY; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Clarence & Estella (Andrus) Conrad and his brother-in-law, Norman Siegard. Clayton loved his family and was a faithful husband. He was patient, kind, honorable, strong, dependable, and a hard worker who was always willing to help his family and others. He could fix anything and did beautiful woodwork. He loved animals and the outdoors. He instilled his integrity and wonderful work ethic into his kids. He retired from Schweizer Aircraft after working many years for Bond Queen City Paper Company and US Foods. Interment will take place at the family's convenience. A picnic will be scheduled by the family to celebrate his life. The family would like to thank the VA, many aides, nurses, etc. which made it possible for us to honor his wishes to keep him home through his extended illness.
