Obituary of Michael E. Mood

In Loving Memory of Michael E. Mood (54) of Elmira, New York who passed away in his home on October 21, 2023 after illness. Known as Mikey to family and friends, he was a practical joker and pure soul with abundant love. He cherished his family, friends, and animals. When not making people double over with laughter, he also deeply enjoyed bowling together. A lover of the outdoors, he would go for long walks and bike rides, and while his Dad was alive they would often go fishing together. Mikey was full of energy and hope, more patient and sympathetic than most people, with a big and sensitive heart. When he wasn't enjoying a funny movie or time outdoors, he could be found laughing with his loved ones or lending a hand. He was both passionate and protective. Preceded in death by Parents Arthur and Marianne Mood. Maternal grandparents Harold and Ruth (Pearson) Green. Paternal grandparents Arthur and Martha (DeVore) Mood. Aunts and uncles: Kenneth/ Ester Green, Vivian/Bob Birdsall, Marilyn/ Charles Huff, Stephen Green, Bob/Phyllis Mood, Lois Mood, Peg Connie. Two cousins Patricia Green and Pamela Green. Survived by sister Lisa M Mood, David and Susan (Mood) Stojakovich. Niece Shanna Merrick Stojakovich, Nephews David M and Matthew J Stojakovich. Three great nieces, one paternal uncle Marc Mood, one maternal aunt Sherry Green and 26 cousins. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Friday, November 3rd from 1 to 2 pm. His funeral service will be held at 2 pm with his uncle Marc Mood officiating.
