Obituary of David G. Ripley

RIPLEY, David G., Sr. Age 67 of Horseheads, NY. He was born May 11, 1949 in Elmira, son of the late Howard and Helen (Woodruff) Ripley and passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017 unexpectedly at home. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Clifford and sisters Marie Ripley and Barbara Jean Alexander. David is survived by his loving husband, Reyman Clark-Ripley; sons and daughters-in-law David Jr and Nora Ripley of Elmira, Corey and Missy Ripley of Elmira Heights and Christopher and Karyn Ripley of Elmira; grandchildren Jeffrey (Angela), Daniel (Kait), Morgan, Amanda, Kyler, Kailey, Jordon, Jared and Jace; great granddaughters Charleigh and Arya; brother Alfred Ripley of Tucson, AZ; dear friends Jack Tidlow of Athens, PA and Jill Dunphy of Elmira along with several nieces and nephews and his beloved cat Lolly. David and Reyman have been together for 28 years and co-owned the Starlite Room in Elmira. David is well known in the area as a master dance instructor and was Chairman of the Board of the Dance Masters of America for many years. He enjoyed his annual campsite at Hillside Campgrounds. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Saturday, January 7th from 1 to 4 pm. His memorial service will follow at 4 pm. Chaplain Meredith Tifft will officiate. He will be buried in the family lot in Sylvania Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
