Obituary of Anna Rose Lawrence

Anna “Ann” Rose Lawrence, of Elmira Heights, NY, born on August 2, 1921 in Elmira, NY, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2020 at Chemung County Nursing Facility, surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Vincent and Joanna (Krolak) Jankowski. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 68 years, William H. Lawrence on March 16, 2019, her brothers Leonard (Minnie) Jankowski, Robert Jankowski, Corporal Richard Jankowski and Edmund Jankowski and her sister Martha (Chester) Dominikoski. She was also predeceased by her father and mother-in-law Edward Sr. and Margaret (Major) Lawrence, brothers-in-law Edward Jr. Lawrence, Frank Lawrence, Thomas Lawrence and Dr. Bernard Kalec, sisters-in-law Margaret (George) Rapave, Sylvia (Carl) Manning, Jessica (Larry) Westover, Loua (Michael) Boyetsko and good friends Robert Sr. and Hazel Ellis. Anna is survived by her two sons Michael (Kathy) Lawrence of Fairbanks, AK and Edward (Delyn) Lawrence of Elmira, sister Lucille Kalec of Williamsville, NY, special friends Delores Burnell and Donna and Elizabeth “Tillie” Badmone. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. Anna worked at Burger & Sharon silk mill, Eclipse and Artistic Greetings. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, taking vacations to Canada with her sons and trips to Alaska to visit her son Michael. She also enjoyed gardening and spending time outside. She was a member of the American Legion Women’s auxiliary Post #154 in Elmira Heights and a long-standing communicant of St. Casimir’s Church in Elmira. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
