Obituary of Louis A. Phillips

PHILLIPS, Louis A. "Tony" Age 76, formerly of Mulberry, FL and Elmira, NY. He was born June 21, 1944 in Buffalo, NY, son of the late Robert G. and June (Fallon) Phillips and passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at home after a brief illness with Parkinson's Disease. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Timothy Phillips and sister Robin Mills. Tony is survived by his dear wife of 55 years, Amelia "Amy" (Ciarrocca) Phillips; children Louis "Tony" Phillips, Jr. of Horseheads, Kim Elizabeth (Michael) Conklin of Breesport, John Timothy Phillips of Elmira and Mark Edward (Denise) Phillips of Pittsford, NY; grandchildren Amber, Samantha, Michaela, Rachael, Nicholas, Erika, Adeline, Linzy, Adarah, Zachary and Sophia; great grandson Kastian; sisters Kathy Meloch of MN, Kim Cumiskey of Ossining, NY, Wendy (Leo) Shuster of Elmira and Mary Phillips of Elmira along with several nieces, nephew and in-laws. Tony was employed with the Elmira Psychiatric Center, Catholic Charities, the Rochester Psychiatric Center and Community Services Group, York, PA. He was very active in the Catholic church, Cursillo, REC Prison Ministry (25 years). He enjoyed golf, fishing, reading, NY Times crossword puzzles and singing karaoke. He was always giving, not wanting anything for himself. His greatest joy was watching his children and grandchildren growing and succeeding in their life's endeavors. Due to the current pandemic, no services will be held at this time. His family will announce a Memorial Mass and Celebration of his life when it is safe to gather again. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may remember Tony through donations to the Parkinson's Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Ste 1509, New York, NY 10018 or a social ministry organization of your choice.
