Obituary of Donald R. Drake, Sr.

Donald R. Drake, Sr. Age 87 of Elmira, NY. He was born January 2, 1934 in Utica, NY, son of the late Harry and Veronica Drake and passed away Monday, August 9, 2021 at home. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anna; children and their spouses Donald, Jr. and Jean of Ashburn, VA, Michael of Elmira, Donna Evans and Steve Lenig of Selinsgrove, PA, Mark Drake and Joshua Fegley of New Orleans, LA; grandchildren Sean (Lauren) Blair of Brockport, NY, Jessica Blair of Elmira, Anthony Blair of Ft. Drum, NY, Nick Drake and Everett Drake both of Ashburn, VA; great granddaughter Alana Blair of Brockport, NY; brother and sister-in-law Harry and Carol Drake of Horseheads; sister and brother-in-law Betty and Ronald Combs of Syracuse, NY along with several nieces and nephews. Don was a longtime active communicant of St. Anthony's Church. He retired from Hardinge, Inc; was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during Korea and was an avid golfer. Family and friends are invited to visit St. Patrick's Church, 604 Park Place, Elmira on Thursday, August 19th from 11 am to 12 noon. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon. Committal prayers and interment, with military honors, will follow in Woodlawn National Cemetery.
