Obituary of Ida M. Ward

WARD, Ida M. Age 80 of Elmira, NY. She was born December 11, 1932 in Charleston, WV, daughter of the late John Quincy and Ollie (Coleman) Adams and passed away Friday, July 26, 2013 at home. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, James E. "Beady" Ward, Sr.; son Kirk Ward; brothers Charles and Amos Adams; half sister Leila Mae Adams. Ida is survived by her daughters Margo and Annette Ward both of Elmira; sons James E. (Gaynell) Ward, Jr. of CA, Rodney and Blane (Sharon) Ward both of Elmira, John Ward of Ithaca; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother John Adams; half sister Helen Adams (Johnnie Mae). Ida retired from the Elmira City School District after 32 years of service. She was president of ISEA for many years; was an employee and retirement consultant of NYSUT for many years and an election inspector for the city of Elmira for many years. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, August 3rd from 11 am to 2 pm at the Green Derby, 113 W. 2nd St., Elmira, NY. Walter J. Kent Funeral Home is assisting the family.
