Obituary of Sara M. Jones

Sara Marjorie Jones (Margie) Sunrise April 25th 1941 Sunset January 30th 2022 Predeceased by her mother Thelma Cohen, sister Evelyn Blair and favored grandson Tyler Jones. Margie was born in Savannah Georgia in 1941. She worked at Trayer Products and then a 30 year career with NY Telephone, which is now known as Verizon. Margie, or Mama Margie or Grammie and Auntie is survived by her son Paul Jr, sister Mary Howard, brother Mahlon Cohen, grandson Terrence (TJ) Jones, granddaughters Sari (Sara) Jones and Syairra (CC) Jones. Sister friend Nina Byford, favored daughters Marpessa (Marti) Toro, Jill Siler and Tammy Jones. So many nieces, nephews, god-grandchildren and cousins we could do this all day. One other person is 'Her man' Donald Brooks who let it be known that no distance was gunna keep them apart. Family and friends are invited to visit Monumental Baptist Church, 1009 Maple Ave., Elmira on Saturday, February 5th from 11 am to 1 pm. Her funeral and committal services will follow at 1 pm. Pastor Corey Cooke will officiate.
