Obituary of John L. Myers
Johnny Lee Myers, 68, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 12, 2022. John loved the Lord since he was a young boy. John was baptized at the Ephesus SDA Church in New York City, NY. His love of music started as a young boy and continued up until the time of his passing. John attended Brandeis High School in NYC and went on to acquire a bachelor's degree in counseling.
John was a loving and caring son, brother, father, husband, grandfather, uncle and a friend to many. John was a poet; he wrote poems to his mother and others. He was a kind and loving person willing to help people from all walks of life. John was an amazing chef; and he was always willing to feed others.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Jeanette (Wilmadean), who he met in his teen years and went on to marry; they were together more than 40 years. He was also predeceased by his brother Arthur Myers, stepfather Lloyd Adams, father Arthur Myers Sr., and grandmother Willie Mae Tyson-Vaughn.
John is survived by his mother Ruby Adams; daughter Tilima Howard; daughter Latisha Weekes; son Joseph Weekes (Melissa); grandchildren Joey, Madyson, Maleah, Jyair and Jasante; nephew Arthur Myers (Jessica) with children Brianna & Amiya; niece Andrea Myers with children Jihad, Koryn & Kennedy; niece Ruby Myers Huxtable (Bradley) with children Bradley & Brady; niece Chanel Myers with children Alockraella, Malick, Chanteenel & Anthony; as well as his dear sister-in-law Andrea Myers. John also had an extensive spiritual family from Morning Manor and Light My Path Ministries which was always supportive of him. It is with great pleasure that John was re-baptized and re-dedicated his life to the Lord.
