Obituary of Vera Giasi

Age 86 of Rock Stream, NY, was born on March 25, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY daughter of the late William and Mary (Joy) Wesotski and passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Schuyler Hospital. She is survived by her children Mary Standish, Paul Giasi, Christine Logan, Joseph Giasi, and her sibling, Stanley Wesotski. She is predeceased by her husband Michael E. Giasi, her son Michael J. Giasi, and her granddaughter Angela Standish-Ives. She was also blessed with many further descendants and close friends that shared her long life. Vera was a sense of strength for her family, and touched the hearts of many people that she came into contact with. Her humility and honesty were what could connect her with anyone that cared to share time with her. She was a true fighter, and never stopped trying to learn. She was a natural born teacher. And she would share her knowledge with those who could sense her wisdom. She will be missed by many. We are all blessed to have had Vera in our lives. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Friday, March 18th from 7 to 9 pm.
