Obituary of Colette M. Courtney

Courtney, Colette M. Age 79 of Elmira, NY. She was born January 10, 1943 in Elmira, daughter of the late Philip and Filomena (Coletta) Santora and passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at home. She was predeceased by her son David on June 12, 1990. Colette is survived by her husband for 55 years, Earl; children Michael of Dallas, TX, Brian of Avoca, NY, Theresa of Rochester, NY, Andrew of Painted Post, Gary of Horseheads and Kevin of Elmira; grandchildren Anthony and Jason; sister Beth DeForge of VT; nephews Jonathan and Peter DeForge. Colette kept the books for their family business, Earl's Painting and Earl's Real Estate. In addition to budgeting the businesses, she frugally budgeted so she could provide an annual vacation for her large family. She also was an avid reader. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Sunday, March 20th from 4 to 6 pm. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 21st at 10 am in St. Patrick's Church, 604 Park Place, Elmira. Rev. Richard Farrell, Celebrant. Committal prayers and interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery.
