Obituary of Martha Elizabeth Barr

Barr, Martha Elizabeth Age 96 of Elmira, NY. She was born on March 2, 1926 in Horseheads, daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Hilton) Whitford and passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Joseph, William, Dr. James and Daniel Whitford; sisters Mildred Hawes and Margaret Lindstrom. She is survived by her husband of 75 years, Gordon; sons and daughters-in-law Daniel M. & Janice Barr of Pine City, G. Wayne. & Simone of Corning and Rodney M. & Valerie Barr of Elmira; 7 grandchildren; several great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren, nieces & nephews. Martha was a communicant of The Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish (Ss. Peter & Paul Church). She retired as office manager of Elmira Drug & Chemical. Family and friends are invited to her Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, May 6th at 10 am in St. Mary's Church, 224 Franklin St., Elmira. Private interment will take place in St. Mary Our Mother Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
