Age 77 of Elmira, NY. He was born March 12, 1945 in Elmira, NY, son of the late Clarence and Phyllis (Cox) Chapman and passed away Monday, June 20, 2022 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Lucinda Chapman; brother James Chapman and sister Sharon Chapman. He is survived by his daughter Bridget Chapman; son and daughter-in-law Joshua & Maria Talbot all of Elmira; sister Carol Ewert of Livonia, NY; brothers William Chapman of Tucson, AZ and Richard Chapman of Lima, NY. Robert retired from the Chemung County Sewer District. He was an avid member of the local chess club for over 50 years. He also had a great love for science fiction and fantasy books and movies, especially bad ones. Family and friends are invited to his memorial service on Saturday, July 23rd at 10:30 am in the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 48 Hibbard Road Extension N, Big Flats, New York.
