Obituary of Barry L. Ross

Barry Lamond "BJ" Jones Ross was born January 9, 1975 in his home of 320 Dewitt Ave, in Elmira, NY. BJ was the son of Aurelia Jones and Barry Ross. BJ attended various schools in Elmira and played sports such as baseball and basketball. BJ later on received his General Education Diploma (GED). Barry worked various jobs such as construction, painting, carpentry, renovation, helping people move, or just lending a helping hand to any one that needed it. BJ was a sociable person who was well known for making people laugh, always having a big smile, debating with others about different topics, and his love for nature. BJ loved fishing, hunting, and training dogs; especially his canine friends "Rage & Scarface." BJ enjoyed smoking his herbs, listening to music and playing cards and other recreational activities with his family and friends. BJ had a special bond with his mother, especially joking with her and calling her by her first name "A-Ree-Ya." BJ loved being around his family joking and playing with them, particularly his nieces and nephews. BJ passed away at the age of 47 years, unexpectedly on July 3, 2022 in Elmira, NY. BJ is predeceased by his father Kervin Driscoll Sr.; sister Renee Jones; maternal grandparents Willie & Gene Jones; paternal grandparents Louis & Loretta Ross; three aunts; two uncles; two nephews and three cousins. BJ leaves to celebrate his life, his mother Aurelia Driscoll; father Barry Ross; sisters Patricia Jones, Kerchelle (Jonathan) Driscoll-Perez, Kernalia (Alexander) Andrews, Kertoya & Kertaya Driscoll & Bree Ross; brothers Howard Jones, Sr., Kervin (Austinishia) Driscoll Jr., Marcus Ross, Caleb Ross, Eben Ross; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
