Bravo, Marjorie M.
Age 87 of Elmira, NY. Marjorie was born March 5, 1935 in Olean, NY, daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Booth) Swinko and passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Guthrie Corning Hospital. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Duane, on June 2, 2022; grandson Brian Bravo; great great grandson Milo Stage-Cha; brother John (Jack) Swinko; sister and brother-in-law Anne Marie (Phil) Pomeroy; brothers-in-law C.J. Maslinski and Robert Bravo. She is survived by her children and their spouses Stephen M. & Megan of BelAir, MD, James M. & Roxanne of Elmira, David C. & Nancy of Elkridge, MD, Kathryn A. Bravo & Terrance Bailado of Chesapeake, VA and Barbara K. & David Miller of Elmira; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister Jean Maslinski; sister-in-law Mary Bravo. Marjorie was a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Casimir's Church and was active in the Rosary & Sacred Heart Society and Wanda Circle. Marjorie was witty and crafty. She completed many arts, crafts, and needlepoint projects over the years. She was an excellent cook, and having family dinners at the table, especially on Sundays, was important to her while raising her children. She was a great friend and neighbor to many, a Cub Scout Den Mother, "Popsicle Mom" to the neighborhood kids, tended to everyone's needs, and was always there for anyone who needed her. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Monday, July 25th from 5 to 7 pm. Her funeral and committal services will follow at 7 pm. Interment will take place in Woodlawn National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
