Obituary of John W. Spencer

SPENCER, John W. Age 88 of Erin, NY. He was born February 18, 1934 in Carthage, NY, son of the late Harold William and Julia (Mono) Spencer and passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022 with his family at his side. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Rose in 2013 and is survived by his children and their spouses Alfred and Dee Spencer of Blairsville, PA, Ellen (Delbert,deceased) Coolbaugh of Elmira, Harold and Maureen Spencer of Erin, Margaret and John Crans of Elkland, PA; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews; good neighbors Gary Ratchford and Patricia McKibben. John was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from Kenneth Elston Farms. He also was employed with Morris Furniture and Dresser Rand. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Wednesday, October 12th from 2 to 4 pm. His funeral service will follow at 4 pm. Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.
