Obituary of Frederick S. Storch

Frederick Scott Storch Age 60 of Horseheads, NY, was born Feb. 5, 1962, son of the late Frederick H. & Marion I. Storch, and passed away unexpectedly on November 26, 2022. Fred was also predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Herbert & Ethel Storch; his maternal grandparents Coe & Viola Larrison; his sister Diane L. Storch; uncles Michael Johnston & Patrick Reinhart of Elmira, Joe Noel of Virginia Beach, VA; and cousin David Noel of Virginia Beach, VA. Fred is survived by his brother Duane (Missy) Storch; sisters Dawn (Bill Lesso) Storch, Susan (Randy) McKerrow, all of Horseheads and Maureen (Harold) Spencer of Erin; aunts Linda Johnston & Cheryl Reinhart of Elmira, Sally Noel of Virginia Beach, VA, Linda (David) Jacobson of Arlington, VA; uncle Carl Larrison of Elmira; cousins Tim & Andy Noel of Virginia Beach, VA, Michael Noel of Winston-Salem, NC, Jennifer (Marcella) Johnston of Boston, MA and David (Adam) Larrison of Rochester; nephews Patrick Storch of Odessa, Michael (Valerie) Martin; niece Sarah Taft of Horseheads; great nieces Hadley G. & Camilla J. Martin of Horseheads. Fred was currently an employee of Hardinge Brothers Inc. in the shipping and receiving department. He made a lifetime career at Hardinge and had numerous friends and colleagues while there. Fred went to Horseheads High School, doubling up with his sister Dawn to graduate in 1979. He also attended Elmira Business Institute from 1981-1982 for accounting, assisting family and friends with income tax returns. Fred was a sincere, compassionate and loving person to family, friends and anyone who had the chance to know him. He loved life itself. His favorite hobbies were landscaping with various trees, plants and flowers, refurbishing antique furniture, (he had an eye for detail), going to flea markets and local casinos, and playing scratch off lottery games hoping to be the next "BIG Winner." His fur-babies Rocky, Mama Cat & Smokey gave him much pleasure when he came home from work. Fred enjoyed the holidays and decorating for Christmas, cookouts and family gatherings for any celebrations, and family conversations around the table at his mother and father's homestead in Erin, NY. It was there most celebrations took place during his childhood and the tradition continued on throughout the years. Fred was truly one of a kind—a special and unique individual, a true friend, and most of all a kind-hearted brother and son. You will be missed our dear brother. See you on the other side! Fly High, Fred! Future services will be announced at the convenience of the family.
