Obituary of Duane W. Johnson

Duane W. Johnson Age 89 of Elmira, NY. He was born April 12, 1933 in Binghamton, NY, son of the late Henry and Gladys (Pritchard) Johnson and passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. He was predeceased by his son David C. Johnson on November 28, 2001 and wife of 59 years, Mary Jane Johnson on November 23, 2016. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Judith and Craig Kennedy; granddaughter Jordan Nicole Kennedy all of Elmira; brother Richard (Theo) of Elmira; sister Jean Agronick of N. Fort Myers, FL; sister-in-law Margaret Rouse of Cortland, NY along with several nieces and nephews. Mr. Johnson was a communicant of Ss. Peter & Paul Church. He retired as Corporate Accounting Manager with NYSEG after 35 years of service; was a member of the NY National Guard from 1949 to 1953; U.S. Coast Guard from 1953 to 1957. He attended Elmira College, Corning Community College, Cornell and Rutgers; a member of the Kiwanis and the Elmira Elks Lodge #62. Family and friends are invited to his Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, December 27th at 11 am in St. Mary's Church. Rev. Scott Kubinski, Celebrant. Committal prayers and interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery.
