Obituary of Claude D O'Dell

Claude D. O'Dell, Sr. Age 87 of Elmira, NY. He was born June 26, 1935 in Elmira, son of the late Otto and Evelyn (Haupt) O'Dell and passed away Saturday, January 8, 2023. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son Claude D. O'Dell, Jr.; sisters Kate Allington & Edna King and brother Sherwood O'Dell. Claude is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen (Stedge) O'Dell; children Steven (Tanya) O'Dell, Joni Bannon and Barbara O'Dell all of Elmira; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 3 great, great grandchildren; brother John O'Dell of Wellsburg, NY; sisters Alice Ellison of Elmira and Helen Schum of Binghamton, NY along with several nieces and nephews. Claude was a self employed carpenter. He was a member of AARP. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Sunday, January 15th from 1 to 4 pm at the Wellsburg Fire Department, 147 Main St., Wellsburg. He will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery with his son at the convenience of the family.
