Obituary of Gwendolyn Carol Ripley

Gwendolyn Carol Ripley Of Syracuse, NY and formerly Elmira. Born on February 2, 1947, daughter of the late James and Edith (Maynard) Gilmore Sr., and passed away in Syracuse, NY on February 14, 2023, from multiple complications including a severe stroke. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Randy A. Bixby; and her sister Linda Symonds. Gwendolyn is survived by her children: Kimberly A. Glover, Tammy J. King, Theresa M. Beach, and Mark S. Davis; her 11 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and her brother James Gilmore Jr. She was a very loving mother who always brought joy to those who knew her. Her love came from the deep relationship with God and the love she received from Jesus Christ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the City of Light Church in Gwendolyn's memory. Family and friends are invited to visit the City of Light Church 300 Lake Street Elmira on Friday, February 17, 2023 from 10 am to 11 am. Her funeral service will be held there at 11 am. Committal and interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Elmira.
