Obituary of Lewis H. Stark
Lewis H. Stark, III was born on December 11, 1962 in Elmira, NY to the late Lewis and Elva (Rollins) Stark, Jr. He made his transition on March 14, 2023. Lewis grew up in Elmira, NY, attended Southside High School and was known as " Sweet Lew". Lew was an avid all around sports figure at Southside, however his love and skill in basketball brought him the name of "Sweet Lew". After Lew graduated from SHS in 1981,Lew enlisted in the Air Force. Lew was stationed in San Antonio, TX and then moved on to Sacramento, CA where he met his wife/ Best Friend, Yolanda Stark. Lew completed his tour in Sacramento, CA and relocated his family back to Elmira, NY. Lew worked as a school custodian and for an Asbestos Removal company. Lew also was known for his coaching skills with the Elmira Small Fry Club for their basketball and football teams.
If the San Francisco 49ers were on, you could find Lew watching his team. Lew also loved to cook along side of his sister and brother. Something he learned from his mom and dad. Of course he thought he was the best of the best.
Lew knew everyone and everyone knew Lew. His knowledge of Math was a big hit with his nieces and nephews. Whenever they needed help, Uncle Lew was there to guide them along the way. He would never tell them the answer, Uncle Lew made them learn it and figure the answer out. His grand children were his hearts. He loved them as much as a grandfather could and more.
Lewis leaves behind his sister Debra (Rob) Clark, brother Brian (Kelly Greene-Stark), Stephanie Gleason. Lew also leaves behind his children to cherish his memory: Lewis Stark IV, S'Londa (Husani) Williams, Marcus (Jody) Walker, all of Atlanta, GA, as well as his grandchildren; Azariayh Olivia Stark, Jalya Hillary Stark, Jeremiah D'Wayne Stark, Mario Levon Williams, Marsean Lakeese Williams, Sa'Niya Lynice Williams, Tyson Husani Williams, Starlyn Marri Walker, Gabriella Yolanda Michelle Walker, Gavin Amari Marcus Walker and a great granddaughter Jayanna Walker and his mother-in-law Brenda Nash.
