Obituary of Rexford Donald "Bucky" Youmans

Of Horseheads, NY Age 82, was born December 22, 1940 in Corning, NY the son of the late Calvin Henry and Florence Flossy (Razey) Youmans; passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at the Bath VA Medical Center in Bath, NY. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Janet (Brewer) Youmans; former wife and mother of his children: Sharon Latshaw; daughter, Shelly McGilvra; sons, Rexford Youmans, Michael (Amber) Youmans and David Youmans; brothers, Stanley (Donna) Youmans and Gerry (Judy) Youmans; sister-in-law, Jackie Youmans; along with several grandchildren, 1 great grandson, numerous nieces and nephews. Rexford was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Florence; brothers, Richard Youmans, Arnold (Erica) Youmans, Roland Youmans, Calvin (Betty) Youmans Jr. and Gary (Carol) Youmans; sisters, Arlene (Fred) Webster and Eileen Youmans Gee. Rexford grew up at Joycrest where he met Janet and then married her. "Bucky" retired as a machine operator from Weyerhaeuser after many years of dedicated service. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp proudly serving his country from 1959 to 1965. He was also on the committee for the 8th Ward Neighborhood that got together regularly at the Elmira Elks Club. "Bucky" was an avid golfer and was a huge fan of the San Francisco 49ers. Graveside services will take place in Woodlawn National Cemetery 1825 Davis Street Elmira, NY on Monday, May 1, 2023 at 1:00 pm. His brother-in-law, Matthew Schilling and niece August MacLauchlan will officiate. The Marine Corps League Edward J. Brewer Detachment # 458 will accord Mr. Youmans Military Honors.
