Obituary of Paul J. Wyak

Paul J. Wyak Sr. Age 85, of Horseheads, NY. He was born August 5, 1937 in Binghamton, NY, the son of the late Michael and Anna (Pauquette) Wyak. Paul passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at home after a brief illness. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Nancy Wyak; step-children, Jon and Katie Mandeville; brothers-in-law, Gary Cozad and Vern Cozad III. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Nannette (Cozad/Mandeville) Wyak; children, Paul (Cindy) Wyak Jr. of Windsor, NY; Renee Conwell and Andrea (Matt) Holland both of Binghamton, NY; step-sons, Keith (Tara) Mandeville Jr. of Hamburg, NY; David Mandeville of Mansfield, PA; brother-in-law, David (Linda) Cozad; sister-in-law, Carolyn Cozad; along with several grandchildren and one great grandson, many nieces and nephews whom he adored. Paul was a communicant of St. Casimir's Church, then St. Mary Our Mother Church. Paul retired from the Wyak Insurance Agency in Binghamton, and most recently retired this year as an insurance inspector for the Reliable Insurance Company. He also leaves behind his beloved canine "girls" Libby and Gracie. Paul enjoyed trips to the Casino, the ocean, the sun, reading non-fiction books, magazines (The Smithsonian). He was very proud of his Polish Heritage, loved to Polka and consume polish dishes, listened to Polka music every Sunday morning. We thank Dr. Akila for her tender loving care of Paul and all the "angels of mercy" at CareFirst. Family and friends are invited to visit St. Mary Our Mother Church, 816 West Broad Street Horseheads, NY on Wednesday, August 2nd from 10:00 am to 11:45 am. His Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12:00 (noon). Reverend Christopher Linsler, Celebrant. Committal prayers and interment will follow in St. Mary Our Mother Cemetery.
