John’s Eulogy
Psalm 37, Verse 24
Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: For the Lord
upholdeth him with his hand
My brother, My friend, the day your heart stopped, mine
changed forever. I’ve been so proud of you the past three
years overcoming the trials and tribulations in your life,
especially losing Mom and Cindy. I’m especially great full
I got to spend a week with you recently being together,
brother and sister as we should. We had a special bond
that nobody understood due to our sensitive hearts and
convictions. You are the only person that ever took the time
to understand me as a person, and my heart as sensitive as
it may be, you truly understood, and I am grateful and thankful
for that. I’m so grateful for the last three years that we took
the time to re-grow our brother/sister relationship, the way God
wanted us to be. I am especially grateful for all the long distance hugs, kisses, “I Love You’s”, and “Please don’t cry” through
the worst time of our lives, the loss of Mom recently. I will keep
those times deep in my heart until we meet again.
I will always remember your skills with art and drawing, you
have always been such a wonderful artist throughout your
life. You told me something recently that was in your heart
forever and that is, not only was Bob your brother, he was
your best friend. You also said in one of our recent talks, you
expressed how much you had hurt your family, and that since
you have been clean, that was one of the hardest things for
you to deal with, knowing that it was your fault and nobody
else’s, and that you don’t blame them for treating you like
they did because it was all your fault, but you loved all of them so
much.
Year’s ago you came to me and asked me to love you for who
you are, not for the things you do, and the way you live, and I
have honored that since that day, even though it was one of the
hardest things for me to ever have to do, but I did it for you
because I loved you that much.
My greatest memory of all, is that I will miss your big blue eyes, and your special smile. I don’t have all the answers but I’m glad
that we always had and understood each other. I’ll always be
proud that you are my brother.
I do know that you are at peace now, free of physical and
emotional pain, and that you’ll be waiting for me, until then,
your in God’s hands.
The Reading of Psalm 23
Psalm 23
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

My deepest sympathy for the loss of your brother John. I was luckily to meet John last year when he was visiting his sister Sue. I found John to be friendly, caring and he had a great sense of humor. He’s probably looking down and feeling sorry for us as we struggle to get through each day. I hope the family (especially Sue) find peace and comfort knowing that John is now free of pain and no longer suffering.
