John Richard Wood

Age 55, was born February, 1, 1968 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Chester and Patricia (Potter) Wood Sr., passed away very unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 in Brooklyn, NY where he resided. His sister, Catherine Kemmer, niece, Amanda Kemmer and nephew, Jesse Kemmer also preceded him in death. He is survived by his beloved siblings: sister, Jacquelyn Gilmore; brother, Steven Thomas; brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Julie Kemmer; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Timothy King; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Suzanne Kemmer; sister and brother-in-law, Patti and John Wakeman; special friend, Jeremy Rank; daughter, Mackenzie Wood; grandson, Maddox Wood; along with several nieces, nephews and many friends. John loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He was an outstanding artist and did excellent work especially with his pencil. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home on Monday, September 18, 2023 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm. Her Celebration of Life will follow the visitation at 1:00 PM. Lay Pastor John P. Knapp will officiate. Walter J. Kent is assisting the Wood family.
