Obituary of LaRue N. Garrison

LaRue N. Garrison Age 94, was born October 15, 1929 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Norman S. and Mildred (Corey) Garrison. He went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, December 9, 2023 peacefully at his home. LaRue is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Joyce (Foulkrod) Garrison; his daughters: Shantay (Barry) Long, Cindy (Randy) Morse, Vicki (Joe) Seymour, Dianna (Dale) Lunger, Lori (Rick) Weaver and AliceSue (Brian) Curren; as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. LaRue was an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed his years at Lyman Gridley as a car salesman. He and his wife also built Garrison's Disposal Service in the local area for many years. In 1977 LaRue's life was radically changed when he became a Christian. We invite anyone who knew him to remember his wonderful life by visiting Emmanuel Community Church, {ECC} 235 East Miller Street Elmira on Saturday, December 16, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A Celebration of his life will follow at 2 pm. Pastor Rob Wuethrich will officiate. LaRue's son-in-law, Barry Long, "adopted son", John Jenkins and grandson Pastor Garrison Long will also participate. LaRue was laid to rest on the family plot in the Jackson Center Cemetery Millerton, PA. Walter J. Kent Funeral Home is assisting the Garrison family.
