Obituary of David T. Jenkins

JENKINS, David T. Age 73 of Elmira, NY. He was born December 29, 1939 in Elmira, son of the late David and Margaret (Hanrahan) Jenkins and passed away Monday, December 2, 2013 very unexpectedly. He was predeceased by his sisters Patricia Aseline and Eileen VanTuyl and is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Theresa (Herrick) Jenkins; daughters Theresa Kemp and Cathleen (Terry Isaacs) Jenkins both of Elmira; sons Thomas (Linda) Jenkins of N. Rose, NY and Michael (Joanne) Jenkins of Montour Falls; grandchildren Shawn (Tasha) Kemp, Christopher (Heather West) Kemp, Gregory Wood, Kaitlyn Wood, Megan Jenkins, Kiersten and MacKenzie Moore, Paul, Phillip and Timothy Jenkins; great grandchildren Lucas and Emmalyn Kemp and Dominick Kemp; sisters Peg (Phil) Comfort and Kay Ackerman along with several nieces and nephews. Dave retired from Hardinge, Inc. after 39 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy; enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid bowler and outdoorsman. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Wednesday, December 4th from 4 to 7 pm. Prayers will be offered there on Thursday, December 5th at 11:30 am followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 12 pm in Ss. Peter & Paul Church. Committal prayers and interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may remember Dave through donations to a charity of one's choice.
