She was born March 1, 1956 in Elmira, daughter of the late James and Margaret (Schrage) Osgood and passed away Friday, January 12, 2024 at home. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Jim in 2019 and step sister Bonnie Joseph. Mary Jo is survived her son and daughter-in-law Jim and Laura Bennett; daughter and son-in-law Jill and Sonny Farnsworth; grandchildren Donovan and Lila Bennett, Zoey and Jaxon Farnsworth all of Horseheads; step mother Carol Osgood of Trumansburg; siblings David (Sandy) Osgood of Elmira, Kathy (Don) Salvatore of Elmira, Susan (Mel) Mansfield of Horseheads, Jeanne (Jerry) Jones of Lawrenceville and Joseph Osgood of SC along with several step brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary Jo was employed with Community Bank (formerly ES&L) for over 25 years, retiring as Assistant Branch Manager in 2022. In retirement, she became a "full time Nana". She loved to shop, cook and bake. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Wednesday, January 17th from 5 to 7 pm. Her memorial service will follow at 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may remember Mary Jo through donations to the Chemung County SPCA, 2435 SR 352, Elmira, NY 14903.
