Obituary of George T. Miller

George T. Miller Age 80 of Elmira, NY. He was born September 28, 1943 in Elmira, son of the late George W. and Jane (Kelly) Miller and passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law Beverly and Donald Ripley. George is survived by his wife of 59 years, Beverly (Smith) Miller; children Lonie (Michael) Graham of Greer, SC, Laurie (James Nader) Miller of Pine City, Edward (Tami) Miller of Romulus, NY, Sandra (Mark) Byrne of Erick, OK; grandchildren Julie (Kelly) Palmer, Christopher (Kimberly) Graham, Aaron Pearson, Maxwell T. Miller, Daniel Pearson and Eva Byrne; great grandchildren Damon Pearson, Logan and Henry Graham; siblings Robert (Jane) Miller of Corning, Thomas (Nancy) Miller of Phoenix, AZ, Patricia Horn of Elmira, David Miller of Elmira and Kevin (Mary) Miller of FL along with several nieces and nephews. George was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was employed for many years at American LaFrance and retired from Hardinge, Inc. He was a member of the American Legion, Clarence R. Oliver Post 154 in Elmira Heights. George was an avid fisherman. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Thursday, February 22nd from 12 to 2 pm. His memorial service will begin at 2 pm. Committal prayers and interment, with military honors, will follow in Woodlawn National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may remember George through donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1999, Memphis, TN 38101
