Obituary of Dennis C. Speen

Dennis C. Speen Age 73 of Elmira Heights, NY. He was born February 8, 1951 in Elmira, son of the late Charles and Irene (Mowchan) Speen and passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Maryanna & Lou Atkinson of Horseheads; brother and sister-in-law William & Jeanne Speen of Valencia, PA; nieces and nephews Chrissie & Jim Sarosy of Clay, NY with their children Gehrig, Holden & Danica, Melanie & Phil Metzger of Schenectady, NY with their children Maggie & Charlie, David & Amber Atkinson of Baldwinsville, NY with their children Gage, Asher & Parker Rae, Ashleen Speen of Owego, NY, Jeremy Speen of Cranberry, PA, Vince Smith of San Fransisco, CA, Stacey & Vlad Gudovich of Potomac, MD and Jill Smith of Washington, DC. Dennis was a communicant and former trustee of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Sunday, March 17th from 4 to 6 pm. Parastas will be at 6 pm. Prayers will be offered there on Monday, March 18th at 11:30 am followed by Divine Liturgy at 12 noon in St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church. Committal prayers and interment will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery. Dennis' family offers a special thank you to the Kidney Transplant team in Pittsburgh for extending Dennis' life.
