Donald L. Barron

Age 95 of Elmira, NY. He was born October 9, 1928 in Elmira, son of the late Joseph and Florence (Clark) Barron and passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024 unexpectedly at home. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his 9 brothers and sisters. Donald is survived by his wife of 70 years, Caroline; children Jeannette Winiecki (Bob Stewart) of N. Chesterfield, VA, Marlene & Chris Deloria of Horseheads, Todd & Priscilla Barron of Elmira; grandchildren Jessica (Wade) Zahnd, Zachary Winiecki, Shannon (Chad) Hammond, Nicole Barron, Gregory Barron; great grandchildren Autumn Kemp, Daxton Hammond, Adaline Zahnd. Donald retired from the Star Gazette with over 30 years of service. He was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corp service during the Korean War and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Private services will take place at the convenience of the family with interment in Woodlawn National Cemetery.
