Age 63, was called home on Saturday, June 22, 2024 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in St. Louis, MO, a native of Elmira, NY. Andre was affectionately known as "snake". He is survived by his loving daughter, Andrea (Logan) Chace; sisters, Linda Fitch-Williams (James), Deborah Murphy of Easton, PA; niece, Caitlin Fitch of Savanah, GA; nephew, Ian Murphy of Easton, PA; and special friend, Brenda Freeman. Andre lived his life to the fullest and made the best of every situation he found himself in. He will be remembered for his love of family, friends and sports. A private Celebration of Andre's life will take place at the convenience of his family. Pastor Toby Locke of the First Baptist Church in Horseheads will officiate. He will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery. Walter J. Kent Funeral Home is assisting the Murphy family.
