Obituary of George A. Lewis

Age 81, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 8, 2024. He will be remembered as a loving, caring, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. His family meant the world to him. He was an avid NY Giants and Dale Earnhardt fan. George is survived by his daughters, Michelle, Tesha, Julie and Stephanie Lewis; Katrese (Anthony) Bradley, all of Elmira; grandchildren, Kay-Lei, Zachary, Hayden and Isabella Lewis; Tara, Sharon and Charles Williams; Jalyssa Lewis, Jesica Martone, Shania (Taylor) Rose, Charlie (Jordan) Seymour, Kara (Steve) Lewis, Ciara and Andrew Lewis, Kirsten (Jon) Hackett, Briana (Stephen) Storch, Joseph Lewis, Kiara Loagun, Jazmyne Bradley, Anthony Jr., George Jr. and Geoffrey Lewis; Ariana Grant, Nathaniel Donaldson, Jarrid Lewis, step-son, George Bullock: and many great grandchildren; sisters, Linda Galpin and Carol Brock; along with many nieces and nephews. George is predeceased by his wife, Julia Lewis, son, Anthony Lewis Sr.; grandson, Brendin Martone; great granddaughter, Mea Deprimo; parents, George H. and Rose (Lux) Lewis; brother, Tommy Simpson; best friend, Scott O'Dell; sister, Mary Theresa Simpson. George loved working on cars, racing stock cars, Elvis and ACDC. He loved his cats, "Buddy" and "Whitey"; but most of all he loved his family. He will be greatly missed. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. His funeral service will follow at noon. Pastor Jacob Pepe will officiate. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
