Obituary of Julia Olga Derkach

DERKACH, Julia Olga Age 96 of Elmira, NY. She was born July 7, 1917 in Elmira, daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Wasyloska) Derkach and passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Elcor Health Services. She was predeceased by her sisters Anna Clancy, Genevieve Daddona, Sophie Dubiak, Helen Harvey and Katherine Kirkendall; brothers Stephen and John Derkach. She is survived by her brother Nickolai Derkach along with several nieces and nephews. Julia was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Parish. She retired from the Parkview Tavern. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Wednesday, January 15th from 11 am to 12 noon. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 pm in Ss. Peter & Paul Church. Rev. Walter Wainwright, Celebrant. Committal prayers and interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery. Julia's family thanks the staff at Elcor - Hickory Knoll South, for the wonderful care they provided her during her stay there.
