Obituary of Mary L. Roberson
ROBERSON, MARY L. LOVETT
Elmira - Age 90, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Arnot Odgen Medical Center, Elmira, NY. She was born April 24, 1934 in Waynesboro, GA, daughter of the late John and Jennie Lovett. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband Ulysses Roberson Sr.; Daughter Josephine Roberson, Son Ulysses Roberson Jr.; Sisters Roselee Bennett, Lena Mae Dukes, Ola Mae Turner, Marie Harden, Pauline Green and Beatrice Miles; Brothers, John Perkins, Frank Burroughs, Roosevelt Lovett, Eugene Lovett and Johnnie Lee Lovett and Nephew Bill Lewis who she called her brother. She is survived by her daughters, Beverly (Herbert) Smith, Shirley (Marvin) Lee, Sharon (Terrance) Greene all of Elmira, NY. Patricia (Kenneth) Johnson Lawrenceville, GA. Sons; Anthony Roberson (Neat), Alonzo (Brenda) Roberson of Elmira, NY. And Daughter – in – Law Hollis Roberson of Elmira NY, Grandchildren she raised from birth Anthony Tremaine Lynch, Ivy Smith and Michael Blandford. She also leave to mourn a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her and her husband moved their family to Elmira in early 1960's. Before retiring she had several jobs. She retired from A&P Plant after 15 years. She was a faithful member of Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church until her illness. Family and friends are invited to visit Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 402 Sullivan Street, Elmira, New York on Thursday, July 25,2024 Viewing 11:00 am to 12:00 pm Mary's homegoing celebration will be held there at 12:00 pm. Pastor Johnny Vaughns officiating. Interment and committal prayers will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
