Obituary of Robert W. Lloyd

Robert William Lloyd Age 81 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024. Bob was born September 2, 1942 in Elmira, son of the late William and Katherine (Mospan) Lloyd. He was also predeceased by his sisters and brothers-in-law Sandi and Thomas A. Sullivan, Shirley and Jack Herron. He is survived by his nephew Michael (Heidi), with children Kailey Ann (deceased), Alex and Stephen of Ladson, SC; special cousin Ann Marie Deegan of Elmira. Bob retired from Hardinge, Inc. after 36 years of service. He really enjoyed playing golf with the Hardinge group at Soaring Eagles and enjoyed his weekly meeting with the "boys" at the Arnot Mall trying to save the world. Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a communicant of the Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish (Ss. Peter & Paul). It was Bob's request that there be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to his Memorial Mass on Saturday, August 24th at 11 am in St. Mary's Church, 224 Franklin St., Elmira. Rev. Scott Kubinski, Celebrant. Interment will take place in Woodlawn National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may remember Bob through donations to the Food Bank of the Southern Tier, 388 Upper Oakwood Ave., Elmira, NY 14903. A special thank you to his Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday Hardinge golf buddies, who always made sure he had a ride to the course; Donna from Gerow's who delivered his lunches daily and Tine and Tom, who were just a phone call away.
