Obituary of Maureen Jeanette Saccucci

Maureen Saccucci, 84, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. Maureen was born on February 16th, 1940 to Ida J. (Wood) and Edward H. Hourihan in Elmira, NY. After graduating from college, Maureen went on to be a very special elementary school teacher. As an educator for nearly 40 years, she had a profound impact on so many lives, many that would still reach out to share their wonderful memories with her. In 1963, she wed the love of her life, Ronald Saccucci, going on to have two children, Michael Saccucci and Jennifer Lentz. Maureen was predeceased by her husband Ron, by her daughter Jen and by her parents, Ida and Edward. She is also predeceased by many special in-laws. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Cheryl, her grandchildren, Jordon (Paige), Aaron and Evan Saccucci, Justin and Jessica Lentz, Shye Bryson and Shaun Ketchuck, as well as her great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and her very special friends. Over the past couple of years, Maureen was able to stay in her home under the special care of many special ladies, with whom she created loving friendships with. Known for her kindness and smile, Maureen will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Maureen's family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life, not the sadness of her passing. At Maureen's request, a private ceremony will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery for her immediate family.
