Obituary of Patricia L. Osteen

Patricia Lee Osteen, 71, was called home on Friday, November 22, 2024, at St. Joseph's Hospital, in Elmira, NY. Patty was born on June 19th, 1953, at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, in Elmira, NY. She was a cherished daughter, sister, mother aunt, cousin and friend. She was known for her caring nature, vibrant spirit and her love of animals. Patty graduated from Elmira Free Academy in 1971 and furthered her education at Mercy University. Patty worked at American LaFrance as a young adult, in Elmira and later served the community through her roles volunteering. Patty spent many years residing in Williamsport, PA and worked at McDonald's. After returning to Elmira, she continued to work at McDonalds.. Patty was a member of Emmanuel Community Church in Elmira, NY. Patty leaves behind her sister, Tracy (Gary) Courtney; sister-in-law Mary Osteen; nieces and nephews; Christina (Leo Machlowski) Osteen, Paul Karl (Kayo) Osteen, Emily (Tim Boehm) Osteen; Great Nieces and Nephew Tyler Osteen, Amelia Osteen, Zoey Haner and Hazel Boehm; and many other dear family members and friends. Patty also leaves behind her cat, Blossom. Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Paul H and Frances L. (Sheid) Osteen; her daughter Jessica Eve Osteen; and her brother Paul H. Osteen Jr. Visitation will be held at Walter Kent Funeral Home on Monday, December 2, 2024 from 4pm-6pm and her funeral will follow at 6:00pm. Casual attire is expected. There will be no graveside service at this time. Patty will be interred with her daughter Jessica, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, at the convenience of family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Chemung County Humane Society, 2435 State Route 352, Elmira, NY 14903, honoring Patty's love for animals. Patty's legacy will be forever cherished by those who knew and loved her
