Wallace "Wally" Gonzalez
Age 63 of Elmira, NY. He was born March 28, 1961 in Puerto Rico and passed away Friday, November 29, 2024 while visiting his son in Texas.
Loving father, brother, uncle, and friend. Wally's greatest pride were his kids: Gavin, Bella, and Troy. He committed his life to providing them with the absolute best and always had their back no matter what. Wally was also a dedicated community member. He enjoyed coaching youth sports and was an accomplished general contractor, always jumping at the opportunity to help those in need.
Wally was also a proud veteran, having served in the United States Marine Corps. One of his fondest memories was serving aboard USS America as she made her maiden voyage across the Suez Canal in 1981.
Wally was so loved by so many, and he was always grateful for all of his friends and neighbors.
In addition to his children, Wally is survived by his father Angel Gonzalez, Sr; siblings Cynthia, Evelyn, Angelo, Ulysses, Frankie and Tracei, Jaki, Anna, Angel, Jr., Eddie and Zach along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Saturday, December 7th from 12 to 1:30 pm. His Celebration of life will follow at 1:30 pm.
