Obituary of Elton F. Shaw

SHAW, Elton F., Jr. Age 67 of Horseheads, NY. He was born January 16, 1947 in Elmira, son of the late Elton F., Sr. and Helen (Kittle) Shaw and passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. He is survived by his wife Nancy (Marcy) Shaw; children Mary Ann (Fredrick) McKaig of Elmira, Robert F. Shaw of Denver, CO and Christina Marie (Dennis Smith) Shaw of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren Whitney and Brandon McKaig; brothers and sisters-in-law Patrick and Gail Shaw and David and Susan Shaw all of Elmira; special uncle John Kittle of Horseheads; special cousin Laurie Tangorre of Reading, PA along with several nieces and nephews. Elton retired from the U. S. Air Force after 23 years; retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier in Horseheads; was president of the NALC, Branch 21, Letter Carrier's Union and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Sunday, February 9th from 12 to 2 pm. His memorial service will follow at 2 pm. Interment, with military honors, will take place in Woodlawn National Cemetery at the convenience of his family.
