Obituary of Jeannette B. Pettibone

Age 88, was born August 17, 1936 in Buffalo, NY the daughter of the late Howard and Arline (Marx) Beale. She passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at Woodbrook Assisted living with family by her side. A Graveside Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and time to honor James R. "Bob" and Jeanette B. Pettibone. Bob and Jeanette were married 60 years and their wishes were to be cremated and buried at the same time. Bob passed away November 16, 2018. Survivors left to cherish their memories are their 3 loving sons: Dennis R. (April), David H. (Michelle) and Douglas W. (Mary Beth) and the late Martin B. Hourihan survived by his wife, Sharon Hourihan. They are also survived by 6 grandchildren: Sarah (Adam) Brimmer, Matthew (Lindsy) Hourihan, Rebecca (Mat) Pettibone, Katie (Anthony) Almeida, Travis (Kayla) Pettibone and Zachary (Amanda) Pettibone; 6 step-grandchildren: Kevin, Michael, Stacey, Gina, Rebecca, and Nick; along with several great grandchildren. Bob and Jeannette were formerly of Buffalo, NY and moved to Elmira, NY in 2015 to be closer to family and friends when Bob was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. The Pettibone family would like to thank the Woodbrook Assisted Living staff for the wonderful care and companionship Jeannette received over the past few years. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to Woodbrook 1250 Maple Ave. Elmira, NY 14904 in her memory. Bob and Jeannette will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery in Elmira, NY. Walter J. Kent Funeral Home and Southern Tier Cremation Services are assisting the Pettibone family.
