Obituary of Joan Middaugh

MIDDAUGH, Joan Marie McPherson Died March 14, 2014 at the age of 59, at Arnot Ogden Hospital after a long fighting battle with COPD. Joan was born in Corning to the late Donald McPherson and Jean McPherson Bernas. She also was the stepdaughter of the late Frank Bernas. Joan is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Bill "Buzz"; only child Daniel Middaugh with fiance Renee Rice; grandchildren Joseph Middaugh fiance Jody Bryant, Ashley Middaugh-Urrea with husband Jose, Natasha Spence and Alanah Swan; great grandchildren Shauna Middaugh, Claria Middaugh, Jasmine and Alonzo Middaugh-Urrea; siblings Donna (Dwight) Callihan of NJ, Ed (Donna) McPherson of Fairport, NY, Betsy (Michael)Tice of Erin, NY, Tom (Wendy Fox) McPherson of PA, Rich (Lisa) McPherson of IL, Barb (Fred) Share of Elmira, NY, Maureen Bernas of Elmira, NY; stepbrother Paul Bernas with Laura Betschen of Elmira, NY. Joan also had four stepsisters and a stepbrother along with several cousins, nieces and nephew in the Elmira and Corning areas. Joan also leaves behind her best friend Monica Troy. She was employed at St. Joseph's Hospital for several years. Family and friends are invited to her memorial service on Friday, March 21st at 4 pm at Walter J. Kent Funeral Home at 858 Lake St at Washington Ave., Elmira. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Food Bank of the Southern Tier, 388 Upper Oakwood Avenue, Elmira, NY 14903.
