Obituary of Glenn E. Cokely

COKELY, Glenn E. "Red" Age 86 of Elmira, NY. Passed away Saturday, April 12th, 2014 at St. Josephs Hospital. He was born October 25, 1927 in Elmira, son of the late Peter and Pearl (Collins) Cokely. Red was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in WWII and retired from Evans Roofing. He was predeceased by his son Nicholas Cokely in 1993, brothers Harold and E. Paul, and wife Wilma Cokely 2003. He is survived by his granddaughter Nicole Cokely of Lodi, NY; sister Virginia Pouliot of Edison, NJ; sister-in-law Grace Cokely of Elmira Heights; several nieces and nephews; step children Carol (Pete) Dennison of Elmira, where he resided, Joe (Cheryl) Jones of Horseheads, Elaine Tenny of Horseheads, Wes Jones of Elmira, and Ellen Gates of Gillett, PA. Family and friends are invited to his graveside service with military honors on Wednesday April 16th at 1pm in Woodlawn National Cemetery, 1825 Davis St. Elmira. Walter J. Kent Funeral Home is assisting the family.
