Obituary of Eunice Isabelle Osborne
OSBORNE, Eunice I.
Age 90 of Pine City, NY. She was born March 8, 1924 in Elmira, daughter of the late Frederick and Maude (Lyon) Dewitt and passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at home after an extended illness, with her family by her side and was looking forward to her painless eternal life in Heaven with her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was predeceased by her husband Clayton in 2007 and is survived by her children and their spouses Jim and Barb Osborne, Tom and Beth Osborne, Larry and Laurie Osborne, Pat and Jerry Moore, Bobby and Sheri Osborne; sister Betty Auffhammer; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great, great grandchild along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Eunice was a WWII wife of a Navy veteran. She had her first child while he was at sea. She worked at the Nordon Bomb Site factory. After Clayton returned from the war, they had four more children. She was a stay at home mom. After the children were gone, she had an upholstery shop in her home. She loved gardening and cherished the many photo albums she had of her family and friends, but most of all, she loved her family. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Tuesday, May 27th from 6 to 8 pm and on Wednesday, May 28th from 11 am to 12 pm at the Southside Alliance Church, 530 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira. A Celebration of her life will follow at 12 pm. Rev. John McConnell will officiate. Interment will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery at the convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may remember Eunice through donations to Southside Alliance Church.
