Obituary of Rosa L. Coley

COLEY, Rosa L. Age 84 of Elmira, NY. She was born December 19, 1929 in Dublin, GA, daughter of the late Charles Lee and Lila Mae Edwards and went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 16, 2014. Rosa was preceded in death by husband, Willie Thomas Coley, her three brothers; Robert Edwards, Andrew Edwards, Willie T. Edwards; her three sisters; Mattie Pearl Williams, Velma Coley, and Marie Mack. She is survived by her daughter; Sheral (Robert) Nelson, two sons; Willie T. Coley Jr. and Alton (Vanester) Coley; sister; Georgia Mae White, brother; T.J. (Irene) Edwards, sisters-in-law; Mary Coley, Geneva Peoples, Teresa Coley, Helen Medley, and Evelyn Coley, brothers-in-law; Wilbert, Curtis, and Wayne Coley, along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rosa was a member of Frederick Douglas Memorial AME Zion Church since 1966. At the church she served as an usher for over 40 years and as a deaconess for over 30 years. She worked at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira for 10 years. Family and friends are invited to visit Frederick Douglass Memorial AME Zion Church, 400 Madison Avenue in Elmira, NY 14901, from 5 PM to 7 PM on Sunday, July 20th 2014 and 11 AM to 12 PM on Monday, July 21st, 2014. A Celebration of Life service for Rosa will follow at 12 PM. Interment will take place at a later date in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Montrose, GA. Walter J.
