Obituary of Patricia Jane Goostrey

GOOSTREY, Patricia J. "Patty" Age 54 of Elmira, NY. Patricia was born September 5, 1959 in Mineola, NY, daughter of the late Patrick and Margaret (Riley) Goostrey and passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014 in Elmira, NY. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Margaret (Robert) Riley, aunts; Patricia (Robert) Duffy and Jane E. Riley, cousin; Ellen Clark, uncle; Don (Fran) Goostrey, and her dear friend; Bonnie Rice. Patty is survived by her cousins, Robert Duffy and daughter Molly Duffy of Elmira, NY, William (Maria Clark) Duffy and son Billy Duffy of Stevensville, MD, Michael Duffy and daughter Meghan Duffy of Elmira, NY, Ann Cunningham of Corning, NY, Joseph P. Clark of Corning, NY, Thomas (Marla) Clark of Fairport, NY; sister-in-law, Marge Goostrey of Ithaca, MI, Fran of Michigan; dear friend, Belva Howe & children. Patty worked as a caretaker, employed for over 15 years by Challenge Industries in Ithaca, NY. She was also an avid baseball and NASCAR fan. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake Street at Washington Avenue in Elmira on Wednesday, July 23rd from 5 PM to 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 24th, at 10 AM at Ss. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, 161 High Street, Elmira; Rev. Walter L. Wainwright will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery, Elmira. Patricia's family wishes to thank the staff at St. Joseph's Skilled Nursing, the ICU staff at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, and the pastoral staff of both the hospital and Blessed Sacrament Parish. A special thank you to Dr. Edward Foster and Hannah for their kindness, attention and support they gave to Patty and her family.
