Obituary of Teresa Menechella

MENECHELLA, Teresa Age 83 of Elmira, NY. She was born March 17, 1931 in Elmira, daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Galucci) Menechella and passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014 peacefully at home after an extended illness. She was predeceased by her brothers Rocco and Cosmo; sisters Celeste, Josephine, Lena and Lucy. She is survived by 22 nieces and nephews including Kathleen Murray, who for her constant care, allowed Teresa to remain in her own home and Karen Brusso, who assisted with her care in her final days at home. Teresa is also survived by her brother-in-law Harry Pryslak; sister-in-law Sylvia Beebe and many great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews. She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Parish attending St. Anthony's Church. Teresa was a seamstress for many years and in later years, was employed with Charles Evans Co. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Monday, August 18th from 4 to 7 pm. Prayers will be offered there on Tuesday, August 19th at 9:30 am, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Patrick's Church. Rev. Richard Farrell, Celebrant. Committal prayers and interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery.
