ACKERMAN, Mildred K.

Age 95 of Elmira Heights, NY. She was born January 21, 1917 in Monroeton, PA, passed away Monday, October 29, 2012 peacefully at home. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon to whom she was married for over 50 years; children Gordon James Ackerman, Kathleen Carmi, Richard Ackerman and Marlene Astudillo; grandson Richard Shaw. Mildred Ackerman is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Darrell and Gayle Ackerman of Erin, NY; daughter and son-in-law Carol and Fay Avery of Sterling, VA; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. Mildred Ackerman was an accomplished seamstress. A memorial service for Mildred Ackerman will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations be sent to the American Cancer Society. Mildred's family thanks CareFirst and her wonderful caregivers, especially Bonnie Butler. Walter J.
