Obituary of Kathleen Loraine Saia

SAIA, Kathleen L. Age 82 of Elmira Heights, NY. She was born July 26, 1932 in Elmira, daughter of the late Lester and Hazel (Graffis) Atkinson and passed away Saturday, January 3, 2015 in Dunwoody, GA. She was predeceased by her husband John in 2007; brother Louis Atkinson and sisters Dorothy LaBore and Betty Sheldon and is survived by her children and their spouses, Dr. Timothy R. (Sally) of Richmond Hill, GA, Rocky (Sue) of Elmira Heights, Jill (Bill) Hudson of Atlanta, GA and Dr. Jack (Anita) of Amherst, NY; grandchildren Angela Brusso, Gina Margeson, John R. Hudson, Will Hudson, Jack Saia, Jr. and Joey Saia; sisters Teddy Terwilliger and Martha (John) Nystrom, sister-in-law Margie Atkinson, along with several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Kathleen was a member of Elmwood Avenue Baptist Church and was a staunch supporter of the Republican Party. Kathleen owned and operated her own hair salon for many years in Elmira and Elmira Heights. Kathleen held an unconditional love for her family and cats. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Sunday, January 11th from 5 to 7 pm. Her funeral service will be held on Monday, January 12th at 10 am in Elmwood Avenue Baptist Church, 230 Elmwood Ave., Elmira Heights. Committal prayers and internment will follow in Woodlawn National Cemetery.
